We help dyslexic learners build skills, confidence, and independence through instruction that is research-based, individualized, and deeply compassionate.
TLC Dyslexia Services began with a parent searching for answers. When two of my three children were diagnosed with dyslexia in early elementary school, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find the right support. Through structured, research-based instruction using the Barton Reading & Spelling System, I saw firsthand what the right intervention could do — not only for reading and spelling, but for confidence and self-esteem. That experience led to the founding of TLC Dyslexia Services and continues to shape our work today.
Support is most effective when it meets the whole learner. We offer practical, consistent help that carries from tutoring sessions into school and home life.
We work with students from kindergarten through college and tailor instruction to each learner's needs.
Our work is grounded in structured literacy and Orton-Gillingham principles. Instruction is explicit, systematic, multisensory, and individualized, but just as importantly, students are taught in a calm setting where they can build skills without shame or unnecessary pressure. The goal is steady progress, stronger confidence, and greater independence over time.
TLC Dyslexia Services maintains high standards for training, certification, and fidelity to structured literacy instruction. Our tutors continue their professional development and are expected to deliver programs carefully, consistently, and with respect for each student.
